‘A gift to the world’: Dumpling chain opening first Ohio location
Grandview is getting a new dumpling spot soon—Serious Dumplings is moving into the former home of Crispy Coop.
According to signage posted to the building, the dumpling chain is moving into the eatery located at 1717 Northwest Blvd., in Columbus. Serious Dumplings (also known as Serious Sanji) is a dumpling chain that specializes in handmade dim sum, Shanghai-style shengjian, and xiao long bao—also known as steamed soup dumplings. The dumpling chain has locations across Florida, Wisconsin, and Illinois. The Columbus location will be the first in Ohio.

Their website features less than perfect translations, which we take as a sign that the food will be incredible. They said, “Today, the traditional Chinese Sanji, our Serious Sanji has come to the United States with western style, but retains the original oriental taste. It not only satisfies your memory of childhood taste and the consolation of endless yearning in a foreign country, but it is also the best gift to global friends who love Chinese food.
