A new gourmet ‘glizzy’ food truck is opening soon

Gourmet glizzies are set to hit the open road.

The Great Glizzies Food Truck, a new concept that will be slinging a variety of culinary hot dog creations, is set to open this Spring, according to owner and longtime Columbus culinary pro Grace Chavarria-Mitchener. Unlike many other food trucks that begin with the end goal of opening a brick and mortar restaurant space, Chavarria-Mitchener said that Great Glizzies doesn’t plan on making the move to a permanent space.

“Nope, that’s exactly the beauty of having a mobile kitchen. You can go to where the business will be and be a part of some really awesome community happenings,” she said. “There’s just something about working a busy event and getting slammed, but getting food out in a very short amount of time compared to other restaurant settings. It’s a fun, hectic thrill. I’ve gotten to work with some of the best trucks in the city and they’ve definitely encouraged me to pursue this and do something that I’ve always dreamed of.”

The new food truck will offer a regular event menu, with items like its BBQ Brisket Dog, Cheesey Weenie and more. It also boasts a brunch menu, featuring a Brunch Dog, French toast hot dog and Loaded Hashbrowns.

According to Chavarria-Mitchener, the truck plans to travel across the Columbus area, with regular pop-ups and stops at local breweries including Thunderwing, Jackie O’s and Ill Mannered.
