Pizza War? National pizza chain adding Columbus location next to a Donatos

Jack McLaughlin

A national pizza chain could be fanning the flames of an international pizza arms race when it brings a new location to the Discovery District soon.

Or a Domino’s Pizza could just open like normal.

According to Domino’s public relations manager Dani Bulger, the brand is adding a new storefront located at 386 E. Main St., in the former home of Way Down Yonder Beignets, which closed last summer. It will be located just down the street from a Donatos (with one building between the two), which is located at 280 S. Grant St., on the corner of Grant Street and E. Main Street.

The new space will offer a pick-up window where customers can grab a pie without leaving their car (although orders must be placed ahead of time). Patrons can also opt for delivery from the location, Bulger said.

Domino’s does not yet have an opening date for the new storefront. The national pizza chain operates more than a dozen locations in Columbus alone, so the good news is you won’t need to wait for this one to open.
