Best slice in Cbus? Hugely popular citywide pizza contest returns

Pizza lovers will have an excuse to sample some of Central Ohio’s best pies this September, all while supporting a good cause.

Re-Slice of Columbus is returning to Polaris on Sept. 17, bringing local pizzerias together for an evening of pizza tasting, activities, and friendly competition.The event will take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at COhatch Polaris, located at 1554 Polaris Pkwy. #325.

Organized by the Development Board of Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Re-Slice is a reboot of the beloved Slice of Columbus fundraising event. During this event, participating Central Ohio pizza shops will serve up their best pies and compete for first place in the tasting competition. Attendees vote for their favorite slice of the night. Participating restaurants this year include:

Borgata Pizza Cafe
Carlucci’s
Flyers
Goodfellas
High Bank Distillery
Luna
Massey’s
Mikey’s Late Night Slice
Pizzawala
Tommy’s Pizza
Black Dog

At last year’s event, 14 local pizza spots participated. Jet’s Pizza took first place, followed by Black Dog Pizzeria in second and Brenz Pizza Co. in third. This year’s event will also benefit The Abigail Wexner Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, with all proceeds going toward the organization. Tickets are limited, you can register online here. Admission includes access to the pizza tasting and all event activities. There will be a DJ, sweet treats, and most importantly plenty of pizza.
