‘Biggest Kurdish restaurant in Columbus’ announces closure

Silav Cafe & Grill has closed their High Street location as of July 31. The self-described “biggest Kurdish restaurant in Columbus” announced the closure, and hopeful next chapter, via social media.

The post said, “Important announcement. To our valued customers, family, and friends, it is with mixed emotions that we announce Silav Cafe & Grill will be temporarily closing as we begin the search for a new location. Our last day will be Friday, July 31st. We are incredibly grateful for the love, support, and loyalty that you have shown us. Serving our community has been an honor, and the friendship, laughter, and memories we’ve shared with you will be cherished forever. This is not goodbye—it’s simply a pause as we embark on the next chapter. We look forward to welcoming you again in a new home and continuing to serve the community we love.” 

The eatery is self-described as the “biggest Kurdish restaurant in Columbus.” Kurdish cuisine hails from the mountainous region of Western Asia—including parts of Iran, Iraq, Turkey and Syria—known as Kurdistan. The restaurant first opened in 2024 at 330 South High Street. Stay tuned here for announcements and updates.
