Central Ohio farm market announces closure

A Central Ohio farm shop has shuttered

According to a social media post, the Happy Dog Farm Stand closed its doors on Aug. 10.

“I am very sad to announce that we have made the difficult decision to close Happy Dog Farm Stand effective today. Scott and I have loved getting to know so many of you but the economics of the business no longer make sense and we must move on,” the post reads.

The year-round farm market was located at 7 E. Main St. in Alexandria, approximately 30 minutes northeast of Columbus.

The market, which originally opened in 2024, operated alongside over 20 local growers and artisans as vendor partners, selling produce grown by small farmers, fresh bread, honey, and more.

In the post announcing its closing, Happy Dog urged Alexandria-area shoppers to continue supporting local small businesses.

“Many of our vendors sell at other shops in the area so please reach out to them and find out where you can buy their fantastic goods. Remember that you shopping small business is always the best way to support your community,” the post reads.
