Columbus bakery closed until ‘further notice’ due to flooding-related issues
A Columbus home bakery is temporarily closing up shop after Central Ohio’s onslaught of late summer rain led to flooding and eventual renovations.
According to a Facebook post from Upper East Kneads, a Columbus-based home bakery, the local baker will likely remain closed until the end of next month.
“As many of you know, our home experienced flooding a few weeks ago and we will be undergoing renovations over the next several weeks. To prioritize the health and safety of our customers, we will be temporarily closed until further notice. We truly appreciate your patience, understanding, and continued support as we work through this process,” the statement reads.

The bakery added in its post that although the flooding mainly occurred in the basement of the home, they wanted to make totally sure no dust or debris found its way into the concept’s baked goods.
Upper East Kneads, which creates cupcakes, cookies, fresh-baked bread and more, noted that it aims to reopen “before the end of October.”
