Columbus cookie shop tapped as 3rd best in the nation by ‘USA Today’ voters
Even though Lion’s Cub Cookies wasn’t able to repeat after being named the nation 2nd best cookie shop in the nation in 2025, 3rd best is a pretty decent consolation prize.
Today, USA Today named Lion’s Cub as the 3rd place finisher in their Best Cookie Shop category, which is part of its 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards. It finished in 2nd place last year.
“At Lion Cub’s Cookies in Columbus, Ohio, nostalgia meets creativity in every warm, gooey bite. Beloved staples like chocolate chip and iced sugar cookies anchor the menu, while seasonal and limited-edition flavors — like cinnamon roll and the over-the-top brookie bomb — keep things exciting,” USA Today wrote. “Each cookie is served fresh from the oven, a commitment to quality that’s helped earn them ‘Best Cookies in Columbus’ four years in a row — every year since opening in 2021.”

The Columbus Cookie shop has won the “Best Cookies” category for the last five years (2022-2026) in our annual ColumBEST voting, which serves as the city’s largest reader poll. You can check out this year’s results here.
Lion’s Cub, which is owned by Bradley Kaplan, made a name for itself when it launched in 2021, offering giant cookies that were delivered while still warm. Today, with a pair of brick and mortar storefronts, the brand continues to serve its rotating menu of enormous cookies (quiet literally) fresh out of the oven.
The brand has a storefront in Grandview, which is located at 1261 Grandview Ave, and another in Worthington, which is located at 7105 N. High St.
