Columbus distillery nominated for nation’s best rum; best tasting room by ‘USA Today’

A Central Ohio distillery was nominated for two USA Today awards.

Echo Spirits Distilling Co. in Columbus was nominated for USA Today’s 10BEST Awards in Best Craft Rum and Best Spirits Tasting Room. 

“It’s wild just to be nominated. There are thousands of craft distilleries across the country producing truly amazing spirits and experiences. We didn’t set out to win awards, just to give people a good bottle and a meaningful memory. I guess we’re doing something right,” said co-founder Joe Bidinger.

Echo’s Queen’s Share Rum is a year-round favorite highlighted by USA Today, the 18 month barrel-aged spirit features sweet flavors of caramel, honey, and tropical fruit. The distillery is located at 985 W. 6th Ave. and including the variations of whisky and spiced rum available, USA Today notes the tasting room’s neighborhood bar atmosphere.

Echo Spirits Distilling Co. is nominated among 19 other distilleries across the country, selected by a panel of experts. Voting ends October 12 for both categories, and the winners will be announced on October 21. Show up for Echo Spirits and vote for the Columbus distillery here.
