Columbus pizzeria closes; Will be replaced by popular smash burger concept

A Columbus pizzeria has closed its doors, but a popular local concept is set to replace it later this year.

OH Pizza & Wings, which was located at 1050 Hilliard Rome Rd., closed its doors early this year. It’s unclear why the eatery shuttered.

Luckily for Central Ohio foodies, an established local burger spot will take over the former pizza spot.

According to a social media post from Delaware-based Smash Shack Burger Company, the eatery plans to open in the Hilliard-Rome Road storefront this fall.

The new eatery will be the second physical location for Smash Shack. The first location is currently located at 81 Lake St. in Downtown Delaware. Smash Shack, which offers Ohio Angus smash burgers, wings, loaded fries, and more, originally opened its doors in September of 2023. Smash Shack also has a Mobile Unit for larger corporate events and private bookings.
