Columbus restaurant named 8th best new restaurant in the country by Yelp

An Italian Village hotspot landed among its the 10 best new restaurants in the country in a new list from Yelp.

Mezcla, which reopened this summer following a months-long closure stemming from a car crash, was named the 8th best restaurant in the country in Yelp’s annual Best New Restaurants list.

The eatery, which serves culinary Mexican cuisine, is located at 1022 Summit St. It originally opened in April of 2025.

“It’s often hard to snag a table at this chic, upscale Mexican restaurant in Columbus’ Italian Village neighborhood. But even if you can’t get a reservation, you can sit at the elegant bar, sip on craft cocktails, and share orders from the restaurant’s menu of tapas-style Latin American cuisine,” Yelp wrote. “That, in fact, is exactly how owner and executive chef Garrett Talmage imagined it, wanting a place “for everyone to gather, connect, and enjoy.”

No other Ohio eateries made the list, which included 25 total restaurants.
