Columbus restaurant says delivery driver stole tip jar for youth employee
A Columbus restaurant says it wants to make sure a delivery driver who stole a tip jar for young employees can’t steal from anyone else.
In a Facebook post, Blasian Grill shared surveillance and doorbell camera images of a man the restaurant alleges took tips from inside the business on Tuesday.
“Wanna Give a Major Shout Out! To this Piece of s**t that steals tips from our Youth making an earning for themselves,” the restaurant wrote in the post. “These ain’t the kind of people you should be rocking with.”

“This has never happened to us before,” owner Joe Russell told 614NOW over the phone the morning after the apparent theft. “Now, I’m working with DoorDash to make sure he doesn’t keep Dashing.”
We reached out to DoorDash about the incident.
“Theft is unacceptable and there is no place for it on our platform,” a DoorDash spokesperson said. “We are actively investigating this allegation and will take appropriate action, up to and including removal from the platform, pending our findings.”
As of Wednesday morning, Russell said he hadn’t yet had time to file a police report.
Russell said the workers at the front are often young people trying to make some money while off school.
“A lot of our hires are high school kids,” Russell said. “They work longer hours in the summer. This is when they stack up their checks.”
Located at 801 Harrisburg Pike in Columbus, Blasian Grill bills itself as serving “the best hibachi in town.”
