Theo Lentz, longtime bartender and mastermind behind the concept, has been running themed pop-ups around the Columbus bar and restaurant scene while working on opening the brick and mortar spot. Shapeshifter pop-ups are known (and loved) for their commitment to the theme—they’ve done Waffle House, Christmas in July, Eat Cheese & Sin, and Tea Party themed events just to name a few.

Located at 129 Mc Dowell St. in Franklinton, The Shapeshifter will be a queer, artists’ collective space that will feature gallery space, live music, and craft cocktails. Shapeshifter said via Instagram that they’re aiming for a mid-May opening. Follow the page here for updates and an opening announcement.
