Demolition of beloved campus bar postponed

Mary McCarthy

A beloved bar on campus is getting torn down for a housing project, but we’re not sure exactly when. The Little Bar, located at 2195 N. High St. first opened in the 80’s and has been a campus staple ever since. The bar and some adjacent buildings are set to be torn down for a housing development project this year.

A demolition date of January 12th was originally set by architect for the project, Mitchell Ackock. However, The Little Bar has confirmed that their property lease goes through March 31st of this year. An official closing date for the beloved campus spot has not yet been announced, and frequent updates can still be found on their socials.

Construction on the project is expected to last for two full years. The new apartment building is currently slated to open in June of 2028.
