Downtown Columbus restaurant abruptly shutters after 12 years
Many of us will have to find a new spot for sushi and lychee martinis.
Rishi Sushi, which opened in 2014 at 114 N. 3rd St. and has been known for gorgeous sushi platters and ramen, announced they’d be closing their restaurant “as we know it.” Rishi told 614Now that they made the decision on January 10th. “As you may imagine, it was a very difficult decision. I have loved the place and the community we served,” they said in an email exchange.

They gave us some hope though on an Instagram announcement, with a picture that said “To Be Continued,” and in the caption, “Wait until you see our 2nd act!” In a comment, they said they had something in the works.
“I am working on some new concept ideas,” they told 614Now in an email. “The team and I are looking at something fresh and community driven…The goal being to bring people together, to share, relax, enjoy and feel safe to do so.”
