Italian eatery featuring wine cellar, hand-rolled pasta coming to Columbus suburb
The Downtown Hilliard mixed-use development project is nearing an agreement with a local food and beverage operator.
The city’s nonprofit development agency, The Hilliard Development Corporation, reached a deal with real estate firm The Westwood Collective to purchase the former Chase Bank property, located at 4056 E Main St. in Hilliard.
The redevelopment project includes the construction of a mixed-use building in the adjoining parking lot and the bank to be transformed into a sit-down Italian eatery.
According to Westwood, the potential operator is an award-winning team specializing in authentic hospitality that will lean into the culture while playing off a classic Italian menu.

The project’s mission statement reads: “We are not entering an oversaturated Italian market — we are introducing a refined, scratch kitchen Italian experience into a growing suburb that is ready for a flagship concept. By combining authenticity, atmosphere, and operational discipline, it positions itself not just as another option — but as the option.”
Construction plans for the restaurant include converting the former bank vault into a wine cellar behind the main bar. The kitchen is also planning to install floor-to-ceiling windows so diners can view handmade pasta being rolled and cut. A projected second-floor mezzanine will overlook the main dining area and a private event room.
The firm is planning to break ground this fall, hoping for a completion date of the scratch kitchen in early 2028.
