Elevated ‘dessert bar’ serving mini-pancakes now open

Three months ago, Lucky Asker visualized a live dessert bar that would elevate an event. And FOR. was born.

FOR. is a mobile dessert cart, right now specializing in made-to-order mini pancakes, but is planning on expanding its dessert options. While mostly featured at private events, FOR. has been collaborating with local Columbus brands in order to evolve beyond the pancakes and reach a larger audience.

The brand was founded with the intention to curate personalized experiences for every catered event. FOR.’s open-ended name is meant to accentuate why a group is brought together: FOR. guests FOR. events, FOR. the moment. 

Whether that moment is a wedding or a Pilates class, FOR. intends to complete the vision with sticky sweet treats.

“We are a baby business but it’s already been really fun connecting and collaborating with different people and businesses around Columbus!” Asker said. “We definitely want FOR. to become known as a live dessert experience in Columbus and keep growing it into something people think of for their events and gatherings.”

Currently, FOR. has a collaboration planned with The Lion, a craft cocktail bar and coffee shop in Bexley. On June 5, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., the pop-up dessert cart will be serving pancake treats that will pair perfectly with an iced latte. The cart will be debuting a new menu item: mini pancakes topped with chocolate chips, whipped maple butter, and maple espresso buttermilk syrup.
