Fried chicken chain shuttering Short North restaurant

Just days after OX-B’s Chicken shared the opening of a new location in Columbus, the eatery announced it will close its Short North space.

On July 26, the Central Ohio-based chicken chain will close the doors of its restaurant located at 1177 N. High St., according to a press release.

The brand’s High Street location shared a space with BrewDog’s Short North taproom. According to a press release from OX-B’s, BrewDog closing its Short North location left the writing on the wall for the Central Ohio chicken chain.

“Following the closure of BrewDog Short North earlier this year, we believe this is the right time to close this chapter. We’re incredibly thankful for the opportunity and for everyone who supported us along the way.” OX-B’s president Joe Holbrook said in a press release.

OX-B’s currently operates seven other Central Ohio restaurants, with locations in Buckeye Lake, Lancaster, Marion, Mount Vernon, Newark, Pataskala and Westerville, in addition to a new eatery slated for 7370 Sawmill Rd. in Clintonville.
