Here’s how to score a free Slurpee and fries this weekend
A first date at a fancy restaurant of craft cocktail? In this economy?
Perhaps, instead, breaking the ice with a free Slurpee from Speedway this weekend. 7-Eleven, who owns Speedway, is insisting on it, actually.
This upcoming Slurpee Day (on Saturday, 7/11), the gas station chain is celebrating 60 years of the Slurpee, and they’re hoping you bring a date along for the celebration. This extra-special Slurpee Date experience, specifically reserved for couples, first-dates, or besties who act like they’re in a couple, offers a free small Slurpee drink, plus a Slurpee Date photo-op bench outside the store with an on-site photographer and a commemorative keepsake from this special moment.

It’s “a fun, low-pressure way to ditch over-planned dates for something a little more slurpious. Because a great date doesn’t need a fancy reservation; sometimes, all it takes is two people, two straws and one Slurpee drink,” said 7-Eleven.
They’re also giving away limited-edition bedazzled Slurpee “S” double straws so that you can share the Slurpee with your date.
Only three other cities were selected for this: Malibu, Dallas, Seaside Park in New Jersey, and here in Columbus, there’s only one gas station where you can find this offer, located at The Speedway at 1805 Jackson Pike.
Keep the date going with a second stop for something to eat—Sheetz is celebrating National French Fry Day (on 7/10) with a free bag of fries given out with any qualifying purchase of $10 or more. The promotion is available at all 830+ Sheetz locations through July 16 by adding it under the OFFERZ tab in the Sheetz app.
