Here’s where Wendy’s is rolling out new blue restaurants
Dublin-based Wendy’s Company is rolling out a bold new restaurant design featuring blue exterior accents and a more digital-focused layout, but only in select international markets.
The company discussed the updated “Future Fresh” concept during its Q1 2026 earnings call last week, describing it as part of Wendy’s ongoing international growth strategy.
“Additionally, we’re rolling out our new Future Fresh restaurant design to help drive growth across international markets,” Wendy’s Interim CEO and CFO Ken Cook said during the call. “This bold, modern format enhances our visual identity through a blue color scheme and digital-first layout that makes us stand out from competitors.”

According to Wendy’s, several restaurants using the design have already opened internationally, including locations in the Philippines, where the company recently opened its 100th restaurant featuring the Future Fresh concept.
The new look swaps Wendy’s traditional red exterior styling for darker blue tones and incorporates a more modernized appearance aimed at international consumers.
Despite the design shift overseas, Wendy’s says the concept is not part of a U.S. rebranding effort.
“At this time, this is not currently part of a broader Wendy’s reimaging initiative in the U.S., and it will not replace existing restaurants with the traditional red façade,” a company spokesperson told 614NOW.
That means fans of the chain’s classic red look likely won’t see the blue design arriving at local U.S. locations anytime soon.
