Viral Japanese soufflé pancake eatery coming to new Short North
The viral Japanese soufflé pancakes are coming to Columbus as part of a new restaurant concept called Litchi, coming soon to the Short North. Located in the former Ampersand Asian Supper Club spot at 940 N. High St., the restaurant is expected to open this summer.
Litchi is the brainchild of Daniel Chen, owner of 698 Restaurant and the 1126 Restaurant in Columbus. This will be the first restaurant in Columbus to offer Japanese-style soufflé pancakes. According to signage at the location, the Pan-Asian concept will include menu items like beef short ribs with walnut chestnut purée, Thai curry sea bass, mango shrimp salad, sizzling tiger prawns with wild mushrooms, and Sichuan peppercorn prawn pasta.
The posted signage promises that Litchi will provide brunch, dinner, and cocktails. Stay tuned for an official opening date, and check out one of Chen’s other restaurants in the meantime.
