Ajumama food truck closing in Columbus, Ohio

A popular Korean food truck has announced they will close after 14 years in business. Ajumama announced the closure in a message to followers on social media. Owner and chef Laura Lee cited rising food costs, equipment needs, health, and other opportunities in the message.

The post said, “May 30th 2026 will be the last day of operations for Ajumama. I have been blessed to do what I love for the last 14 years as a small business owner…This last year has been incredibly hard on the business. Food prices have skyrocketed, physical supplies have also followed suit and events became less attended or disappeared completely as all of us have had to scale back.” Lee went on to mention that she is accepting another opportunity, and that the physical side of operating a food truck (including weather conditions) has been taking a toll. She’s been dealing with tennis elbow, and said “All those thousands of pounds of chicken I’ve been cleaning have finally left their mark.”

Fans of Ajumama shouldn’t despair—Lee said “It’s time for this iteration of Ajumama to end. It might return at some point as a pop up or some other sort of collab—don’t count me out totally. For now however I need to heal and quite frankly stop bleeding money.” You can still snag a Bulgogi Cheezesteak  or Kimchi Bratwurst for a few more days. The truck will appear at Alley Island Festival and the Clintonville Market prior to closing on May 30.
