Local bar tapped as ‘Best U.S. Restaurant Bar’ by prestigious industry awards

Cobra has won “Best U.S. Restaurant Bar” at The Spirited Awards held on July 23. The Spirited Awards, created by the Tales of the Cocktail Foundation, are a prestigious honor recognizing excellence in the spirits and cocktail industry in the U.S. and internationally.

The bar expressed their gratitude via social media. The post said, “We started Cobra to represent a collection of ideas we hold dear: the importance of inclusive spaces with diverse voices. The need for an educational focus to show that hospitality is a skill worth devoting a career toward. The idea that a bar is not a brand, but a coming together of people, on both sides of the bar. We took these ideas and wrapped them in an Asian American Neighborhood Bar, a space that seeks to highlight every edge of what it means to be Asian American. The expansive array of memories, experiences, and hopes that make us who we are. We have been so lucky to be surrounded by countless numbers of people who have shown us their love and support. From our staff, who show up everyday to help create what Cobra actually is and offer it to our guests. To the people who frequent our doors and bring their friends. To the people who opened their doors for us to share what we do with different communities and different cities. To the people who’ve always believed, thank you. You’ve got friends in Ohio.”

Cobra is located at 684 S. High St., the Asian-American bar serves creative cocktails and Asian-inspired food until midnight, with a late-night menu going until 1:45 a.m. They’re open Wednesday through Monday from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m., you can follow them here for updates and announcements.
