Mountain Dew releases list of by-state sales: Find out if Ohio is #1
While Ohio is typically considered a red state politically, it’s also a green one.
And we don’t mean green in terms of environmentally-friendliness or a reference to weed. We mean green in terms of one thing and one thing only: Mountain Dew.
According to a social media post made by the popular Pepsi-owned soda brand late last week, Ohio buys more Mountain Dew than any other state in the country.

- North Carolina
- Michigan
- Kentucky
- Florida
- Indiana
- Tennessee
- Wisconsin
- Pennsylvania
- Georgia
It’s unclear if the list–which was created by Mountain Dew–is referring to net or per capita sales and the time period the data was taken from is also not clear. The point remains, however, that the Buckeye State truly does the Dew.
