National burger chain closes Columbus location
A locally-based burger giant has said goodbye to one of its eateries.
Earlier this month, the Dublin-based burger giant Wendy’s permanently closed the doors of the restaurant located at 2626 Bethel Road. The location was shared with a Tim Horton’s.
Wendy’s did not respond to a request for comment on the closure by the time this story was published.

Last November, during the brand’s Q3 earnings call, Wendy’s announced its plans to close between 200-350 restaurants nationwide, in order to double down on locations that are better-performing and more modern. The move was referred to as “Project Refresh” by Wendy’s CEO Ken Cook.
Despite the closure, Wendy’s continues to operate multiple restaurants on the Northwest Side of Columbus, including an eatery several miles east on Bethel Road, located at 739 Bethel Rd., and another located at 3040 Northwest Blvd.
