National coffee chain closes Short North location after less than 18 months

Jack McLaughlin

Coffee giant Starbucks has shuttered a pair of Columbus stores, including a location that opened in April of 2025.

In the wake of the chain closing 250 locations across the country–a move that was announced by CEO Brian Niccol last week–Starbucks closed its Short North store and its standalone store at Easton.

The Short North Starbucks was located at 1014 N. High St., the Easton store was located at 4015 Easton Station.

According to Niccol, the stores that are part of the brand’s recent slate of nationwide closures are being shuttered for not meeting financial goals, or not meeting customer experience goals.

Starbucks will continue to operate its other Easton coffee shop, which is located at 3954 Morse Crossing, and the Seattle-based coffee giant still operates dozens of stores throughout Central Ohio.
