National travel guide says this local ‘chic’ spot is the best vegetarian restaurant in Ohio

The meat-free movement is having its moment, but a local Columbus restaurant has been ahead of the curve the entire time.

And their creative plant-forward dishes that make you forget about a filet entirely are getting recognized.

Lovefood named Comune the best vegetarian restaurant in all of Ohio, calling them “chic” with “perfectly conceived options.” They named dishes like Comune’s smoked beet tartare, kimchi fried rise, roasted harissa carrots, and coconut semifreddo with pistachio praline as standouts.

Comune, located at 677 Parsons Ave. near German Village, has the ambiance to match its renowned menu. If you’re there for happy hour, bask in the sunlight pouring in through the huge windows, lighting up your already bright glass of natural wine. In the evening, the candle-lit space transforms into the sexiest spot in town, with a hip playlist as your soundtrack to the start, or finish, of a really fabulous night.

Their menu changes seasonally, but the smoked beet tartare and kimchi fried rice Lovefood admired are there right now. With it being summer, the roasted carrots have been swapped for dishes like watermelon carpaccio and roasted tomato toast, and the semifreddo dessert now features a summer stonefruit.
