New Eritrean restaurant opens, and it’s already getting rave reviews
A new cafe just opened in Central Ohio serving fresh Eritrean dishes and cafe fare.
Eritrea, located on the East Side of Africa, was colonized by Italy until the 1940s. As a result, their food scene is as eclectic as you could imagine—think Ethiopian (injera, nibs, lentils) mixed with Italian food (pastas, sandwiches, pizza).

A new cafe at 1731 Brice Rd., called Hidmona Eritrean Cafe, is already becoming a popular spot to experience this type of fusion. Guests can enjoy Kulwa fish, but also spaghetti; stewed lentils, but also an Italian sub with fries. There’s something for everyone, including vegans.
The cafe also serves a variety of Eritrean coffees and pastries. They’re open every day from 9AM until 9PM.
While it’s only been open for a week, it’s already garnering five star reviews.
