New German Village brunch spot set to open in former Skillet space

A new breakfast and lunch spot plans to take over the former Skillet location near German Village. 

The BeckFast Place at 410 E. Whittier St. will offer breakfast burritos, bagel sandwiches, wraps, and salads, as well as espresso and coffee drinks, and is expected to open in the coming months.

Owner Becker Nezballa has been living in Columbus for almost seven years now and has spent about four years searching for a location to house his concept. Previously, he worked at his family diner in Edinboro, Pennsylvania, until it was sold. Nezballa intends to replicate the same familiar feel at The BeckFast Place.

The former brunch spot Skillet ruled the breakfast scene for 15 years before its closure in February, and now its successor has some big coffee cups to fill.
