One of the best sub shops in the country has been here in Columbus since 1959, says national travel guide

If your weekend plans are still in flux, perhaps a trip to one of the best sub shops in the state and country?

Susie’s Sub Shop, which has been an underground staple here in Columbus since 1959, was listed as the best sub shop in Ohio by the national good guide Lovefood. They also ranked it at the 29th best sub shop in the entire country.

“From Philly-style subs to veggie rolls with mushrooms, onions, and peppers, the sandwiches at Susie’s Sub Shop are always delicious. They’re huge, too, which means it’s tough to finish even the tastiest of offerings on the menu (best-ever meatball sub, we’re looking at you). Another favorite is the roast beef, served on perfectly baked rolls. The spot is also known for pizza and – brilliantly – pizza subs, with all the classic toppings stuffed into a roll.”

Susie’s is located at 3739 Karl Rd. in an assuming building. The secret’s out: along with some incredible subs, they serve a variety of pizza that many connoisseurs in Columbus consider some of the best, too.
