Wendy’s struggles continue as a franchisee operating more than 300 locations across 15 states filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy last month, and as many as 30 stores could be affected.

According to documents filed with the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Michigan, Meritage Hospitality Group, which operates 314 Wendy’s locations, filed for bankruptcy in late September.

As part of a cash collateral agreement related to the group’s bankruptcy, Meritage could close up to 30 stores over the next several weeks, although the exact timetable of the closures is unclear.
