Kroger is celebrating the opening with giveaways, including gift cards for the first shoppers through the doors. The first 200 customers today will receive gift cards ranging from $5 to $500, according to Kroger. According to social media, the lines were out the door.

The new store spans more than 118,000 square feet and represents a $33 million investment in the Delaware community, according to Kroger. The store will employ over 200 people.

Shoppers can expect a much bigger selection than a typical Kroger, with expanded grocery departments alongside general merchandise. The store features a bakery, deli, meat and seafood departments, produce, sushi, a cheese shop, apparel and so much more.

There’s also a fuel center at the new location. According to Kroger, the grand-opening celebration will continue Saturday, Oct. 3, where the first 200 customers will receive a coupon for a free Kroger-brand breakfast item.

Kroger Plus members can also take advantage of a 20-cent-per-gallon fuel discount through Oct. 13 as part of the grand-opening celebrations. The new Delaware Marketplace is located at 1650 Sunbury Road and is open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
