‘Pizza Today’ tapped this Columbus spot as a pizza ‘destination’
It’s likely you know Mikey’s Late Night Slice as a Columbus mainstay, but now, according to a recently-published story from Pizza Today, it’s a national destination.
Last week, Pizza Today published a feature on the long-standing Columbus pizza chain as part of its “Destinations” series. “In Columbus, Ohio, the name Mikey is synonymous with late-night pizza,” the story reads.

It discusses owner Mikey Soboro’s focus on authenticity, on allowing each of the chain’s 13 eateries (including the recently opened Polaris location) to maintain the fun flair and edge that initially set the brand apart.
It even discusses the unique themes of each Mikey’s bathroom, and, of course, the pizza, noting that each Mikey’s serves five options at any given time, including cheese and basil, mushroom with roasted garlic, regular pepperoni, Spicy-Ass Pepperoni, and a rotating pizza of the week, such as Mikey’s Thanksgiving-themed pizza, The Gobbler, and Daddy Mac, a mac and cheese pizza with a creamy white cheddar mac & cheese base, with crispy cup and char sausage, and Italian sausage balls.
The article praised the environment that Soboro consistently curates in each Mikey’s location. Each Mikey’s offers late night hours, plenty of noise (no TV’s on mute here), experimental pizza flavors, and hidden gems like the speakeasy under the Short North location. According to Soboro, the concept markets itself. He said, “We make our spaces look really cool, and then people come in and take pictures and do all that marketing for us.”
