Plans for new shopping center and “town square” move ahead for Columbus suburb

As if Bridge Park and Old Dublin weren’t already charming enough, the city of Dublin and a development group is working on an enchanting new town square and shopping center.

On February 5th, Dublin’s planning and zoning commission recommended approval for “Monterey Square,” which is a nearly seven-acre development to be built at West Bridge Street and Monterey Drive.

If completely approved in the next phase, this new town square will include 140,000 square feet of retail, dining, and office space. Conceptualized by Wood Companies, this little village will be highly pedestrian and community focused, with plenty of plants, green space, and paved walkways, plus almost 600 parking spaces.

Many Dublin residents have expressed interest and approval of Monterey Square. A timeline for construction has yet to be determined, for Wood Companies will need to return to Dublin’s planning and zoning commission for another review.
