Polaris-area BBQ spot shutters

After originally opening in early 2023, Martiny’s BBQ has closed its Polaris-area restaurant.

According to a Facebook post from last month, the barbeque spot closed the doors of its eatery, which is located at 5808 Columbus Pike, in December.

Martiny’s owner Michael Martiny told 614Now that he chose to step away from the brick and mortar following “partnership issues and decisions that didn’t align with [his] values or the direction of Martiny’s.”

The former Martiny’s space has reopened as a barbeque restaurant under the name Crossroads BBQ.

Michael Martiny said that the concept will remain on “pause” until he can put a plan together to raise the necessary funding, although he believes the brand will return in some capacity.

“The brand itself isn’t going anywhere though–I’m focused on what’s next, and a food truck is absolutely something I’d consider,” he told 614Now.
