Polaris-area restaurant announces closure

A lively spot for food and music is shuttering. At least for now.

According to a social media post from the eatery, CJ’s Soul Food will close on July 26. The restaurant, which originally opened in early 2022, is located at 1262 E. Powell Rd.

While CJ’s is leaving its original home, the restaurant’s post claims it plans to move into a new, larger location.

“This week, we say goodbye to Lewis Center, Not because the story is over–because it’s about to get bigger,” the post reads. “CJ’s Soul Food is heading to a new home, and we can’t wait to share it with you soon.” The address of CJ’s new location wasn’t included, and an opening date wasn’t shared.

Before it closes, CJ’s plans to offer a number of special deals in order to “send this place off the way it deserves,” including saving 10 percent on your order by sharing their Instagram post and tagging @cjssoulfoodcolumbus, and half-off drinks from 4-7 p.m.
