Following the great success of their Dublin location that first opened in 2024, a popular bakery is now venturing into the Short North.

Maison Skalli, a Moroccan and French bakery offering handcrafted pastries, breakfast, and brunch made using their own recipes, is opening its second location at 662 N. High St. on April 11.

Owners Abdelilah and Chouaib Esskalli expressed how the Short North felt like the “perfect fit” for their new space. “It’s a vibrant area with a strong sense of community, great energy, and a love for unique food experiences. We wanted to bring something different to that neighborhood and be part of its dynamic atmosphere,” they said.

Maison Skalli is known for signature items like their laminated croissants—with flavors including pistachio, kunafa, and strawberry Nutella—and Dubai chocolate creations, namely the Dubai Crunchy Cup and Dubai Chocolate Bar.

The owners shared that customers can expect the same quality, flavors, and identity experienced at their Dublin location, but with “a slightly more elevated and energetic feel to match the Short North environment” in a space designed to be modern, warm, and cozy.

“Opening our second location is a big milestone for us. It represents growth, hard work, and the support we’ve received from our community. We’re excited to bring our vision to a new neighborhood and continue sharing what we love with even more people.”

Maison Skalli’s Short North hours will be 10 a.m. to 12 a.m., daily.
