Popular Northeast Ohio fruit bowl cafe coming to High Street with first Columbus location

The Fruit Stand, a northeast Ohio-based fruit bowl and smoothie cafe, is expanding to Columbus with a new location in the Short North.

The shop, located at 1130 N. High St., will mark the brand’s first location outside of northeast Ohio. An official opening date has not been announced, though founder and owner Jason Carpinelli said he is aiming for a mid-April launch.

“Columbus has been on our radar for a while,” Carpinelli said. “It’s a fast-growing city with a strong mix of college students, young professionals and people who really value better-for-you food options.”

The Fruit Stand specializes in customizable fresh-cut fruit bowls, açaí bowls, smoothies and oatmeal, with an emphasis on made-to-order ingredients and presentation.

“With this location, people can expect the same core experience we’ve built our brand on — completely customizable smoothie bowls made fresh, never frozen, with high-quality ingredients,” Carpinelli said.

Carpinelli said the decision to open near Ohio State was intentional, citing the company’s success in college communities.

“We’ve seen a lot of success building our brand around college communities, so being near Ohio State made this an easy decision for us,” he said.

The brand aims to stand out through both product quality and customer experience.

“We’re not just another smoothie or bowl spot — we’ve built an experience that’s consistent, fast, fresh and visually appealing, while still feeling local and personal,” Carpinelli said. “We’re excited to bring that to Columbus and become part of the community here.”

More details about the official opening date are expected to be announced soon.
