Popular Short North restaurant announces closure

Woodhouse Vegan cafe is closing in the Short North

Woodhouse Vegan is saying goodbye to the Short North. Located at 19 W. Russell St., the plant-based, woman-owned cafe has announced via Instagram that they will be closing their doors this summer. The announcement comes from sisters Cara and Nicole Woodhouse.

The post said, “As many of you know, the restaurant world looks very different than it did a decade ago. To grow and rethink how we show up in the vegan space, we need to create some room to breathe + reimagine what’s next. With that, Woodhouse Vegan will be closing its café operations this summer. We are incredibly grateful to @oddfellowscolumbus for giving us our first home, and to @woodcompanies for our last. Thank you to @parkservicecoffee for bringing warmth (and caffeine) into our space. And most importantly, thank you to our amazing team – past and present – and to our loyal community who supported us from our humble meal prep beginnings, to our line-out-the-door pop up, into our first iteration of a brick + mortar and beyond. You’ve carried us through every chapter.”

The Woodhouse family isn’t abandoning the concept, the post said “This is not an ending, but a transition. We believe growth requires letting go of what no longer serves us to make room for what’s next. While the path ahead isn’t fully defined, we’re stepping into this next chapter with gratitude, excitement + intention.”

You can read the full announcement here, and visit Woodhouse Vegan Tuesday through Wednesday 8:00 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Thursday through Sunday 8:00 a.m. to 3 p.m.
