Popular YouTuber calls Columbus eatery the ‘best sandwich shop in America’

Rob Martinez, a YouTube foodie with nearly one million followers, isn’t afraid to go after what he wants.

After claiming he took multiple day trips–flying from New York–to Columbus just to try Wario’s Beef and Pork, the popular content creator released a documentary about the eatery, titled The best sandwich shop in America is in Columbus, yesterday.

The 13-minute video Wario’s owner Stephen Madias to get a behind-the-scenes look at the length the local restaurant takes to serve quality subs, including late-night meat smoking and processing proteins in-house.

Billed as an “East Coast-style sandwich shop,” Madias opened Wario’s original carryout eatery –which is located at 111 W. Nationwide Blvd.–in the fall of 2020. It became a local foodie sensation almost overnight, and Madias launched a spin-off concept inside of Jackie O’s on Fourth, called Goood Friends, in 2023, and a second Wario’s in Clintonville, which is located at 4219 N. High St., in early 2024.
