Restaurant & craft brewery abruptly shutters sole Central Ohio location

A bar and restaurant chain that capitalized off the craft beer craze of the mid-2010s has left Central Ohioans in the dark.

The Hamiton Quarter location of Beerhead Bar & Eatery, located at 6294 E. Dublin Granville Rd., announced via Facebook that they’re now permanently closed. Beerhead also closed their Cleveland location after a decade. “Our favorite Friday evening spot with our family! This is terrible!” said one loyal customer on Beerhead’s Facebook announcement.

Beerhead first opened in Hamilton Quarter in 2020, offering a neighborhood spot for more than 50 craft beers on-tap, and bar fare like burgers and appetizers. The concept started in Chicago in 2012, and as of now, there are only four locations remaining.

In 2025 alone, over 434 breweries shuttered, according to The Brewers Association, significantly outnumbering new openings. New, widespread tariffs put in place in 2025 drove up prices for cans, kegs, and brewing equipment. In 2026, the closures are expected to increase due to factors like rising material costs and a lower demand for alcohol in general.
