Popular deli launching rooftop bar in historic neighborhood

Currently, the best way to take in all that Uptown has to offer is by walking around or dining al fresco.

But soon, there will be a whole new view.

Last Thursday, the Uptown Review Board unanimously approved plans for Uptown Deli and Brew to open the first rooftop bar in the historic Uptown area of Westerville.

Uptown Deli and Brew, currently located at 41 N. State St., plans to expand into the former Edward Jones offices right next door. The new rooftop bar will be on top of the former offices, and not directly overhead of the existing restaurant and brewery.

Submitted plans show a wooden bar, metal cabana, string lights, plants, and glass railings for protection.

Uptown Deli and Brew is mostly known for decadent deli sandwiches with a European flare, along with soups, salads, and artisan charcuteries. Temperance Row Brewing Company sits inside the restaurant, and it’s considered the first brewery in Westerville, churning out delicious house craft ales, pilsners, IPAs, and stouts.

A timeline for this expansion hasn’t yet been set, but we couldn’t be more thrilled for this local brewpub and for Uptown’s progress.
