Sister restaurant of national steakhouse chain planning first Central Ohio location

The Texas Roadhouse brand is doubling down on Ohio expansion, and is now hoping to add one of the restaurant group’s chain eateries in the Columbus area for the first time.

According to documents filed with the City of Reynoldsburg, Bubba’s 33, a sports bar-inspired spinoff of Texas Roadhouse, is planning its first local restaurant in Reynoldsburg.

Plans noted the more than 6,500 square feet space will be located at 2928 Taylor Rd.

According to Reynoldsburg development director Eric Meyer, the project application is still under review by the city. If a variance or other element not compliant with city code is required for the project, it will need to be approved by the Reynoldsburg Board of Planning and Zoning, although Meyer said it’s unclear if that will be needed.

Bubba’s, which operates numerous locations across the Buckeye State, offers contemporary American cuisine with a sports bar theme, differentiating it from its steak-forward counterpart Texas Roadhouse.
