From bourbon chicken to mac and cheese, new soul food spot now open

Gahanna is getting an exciting addition to their restaurant scene. Soul 2 Go Express is currently in their soft opening phase for a new location at 134 N. Hamilton Rd. in Gahanna. This is the restaurant’s third location, with a carry-out kitchen at 1282 Essex Ave., and a standalone location at 72 E. Lynn St. in the Uptown District.

The local chain is operated by brothers Will, Kevin, and Keith Hightower, in partnership with their collaborator and friend, Jerome Ross. 614Now caught up with Kevin Hightower to learn more about the new spot. He said, “ Our new Gahanna location is an exciting next step for us as we continue to grow the Soul 2 Go brand. What people should know is that we’re bringing the same elevated soul food experience we’ve built our reputation on bold flavors, consistent quality, and a welcoming, high-energy atmosphere but with a slightly more streamlined model designed for both quick carryout and delivery, along with a small dine-in component.”

According to Kevin, guests can expect all of their signature favorites, including bourbon chicken, jerk chicken, and house-made sides like mac & cheese and greens. He said, “Beyond the food, what really sets us apart is the experience. Even in a more compact setting, we focus heavily on hospitality, presentation, and making sure every guest interaction reflects the Soul 2 Go brand. Gahanna is a great fit for us, and we’re excited to become part of the community. This location is also part of a larger expansion plan as we continue to grow throughout Central Ohio.”
