Supper club chef bringing upscale eatery to the Short North
Short North is expanding its restaurant hub with a new dining concept.
Canario, a new collaboration from Marco Piazza and Chef Jermy Nelson is coming soon to the former Woodhouse Vegan space at 19 W. Russell St.
The space is as intimate as the name, a reference to Piazza’s dog, a Presa Canario, is the face of the restaurant, set to hold only 42 seats.

Chef Nelson of Umbral Supper Club is set to prepare Canario’s menu, a plan that involves a chef-led eight-course menu along with some a la carte dinner options as well. With a vast resume from Umbral, guests can expect to leave Canario full and satisfied.
Currently, there is no opening timeline set for Canario. 614Now will update this story as it develops, and keep an eye out for the restaurant’s Instagram for future announcements.
