Taco chain to close its last-remaining Columbus location

An Ohio taco chain is preparing to close its final Columbus storefront.

Barrio Tacos, which is located at 1870 N. High St., will close its doors on Sunday, an employee of the High Street restaurant told 614Now.

The brand did not mention the reasons behind the closure, and declined to comment further.

This is the second Columbus Barrio Tacos location set to close recently, as the brand shuttered its Grandview eatery, which was located at 1415 W. 5th Ave., last year.

Barrio Tacos was first opened in Tremot, Ohio in 2012, and the brand has been serving “tacos, tequila, and whiskey” across the Buckeye State and beyond ever since. Today, Barrio operates multiple restaurants in Northeastern Ohio, in addition to locations in Michigan, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, and Texas.

The restaurant Barrio Burrito Bar is a separate brand that is unaffiliated with Barrio Tacos and currently operates three Columbus-area locations.
