Tokyo-based ramen restaurant opening first Ohio location

A taste of Tokyo is making its way to the Short North—Tonchin is coming soon. According to signage posted at 965 N. High St., the international ramen spot is moving in.

Tonchin means “a place to come together”, it was started in 1992 by brothers Katsuhiro and Motohiro Sugeno in Tokyo. The restaurant made its way to America via Anan Sugeno in 2017, with a flagship location in Manhattan. The restaurant has since expanded to L.A., Mexico City, Brooklyn, and (soon) Ohio. They’re known for their rich pork broths, daily handmade noodles, and elevated classic dishes.
