Viral matcha cafe opening in Short North

A hugely popular matcha spot has confirmed the highly anticipated grand opening of their second location. Matcha Me is officially expanding to the Short North this week—they confirmed via social media.

The post said “Join us for the Grand Opening of Matcha Me Short North! Friday, May 22nd, 8:00AM–7:00PM at 14 E Lincoln St. The first 50 guests will receive a free Matcha Me tumbler. We’ll also be serving our exclusive Blue Coconut Cream Matcha Latte this weekend only at both Matcha Me locations” 

The original Matcha Me is located at 2438 N. High St. The quaint little space is simply not large enough to keep up with the demand for their specialty matchas, which regularly go viral on TikTok and Reels. In a 2025 interview with 614Now, owner Gardenia Gomez said “The support at our first spot has been incredible, and it felt like the right time to grow. The Short North has such great energy, and we’re excited to be part of that community and share our matcha with more people.” Follow their Instagram for updates and announcements.
