A growing Ohio chicken chain is expanding again.

OX-B’s will open its first Marion location on May 20, marking the brand’s seventh overall restaurant. The new spot is located at 172 S. Main St. in downtown Marion.

Doors open at 11 a.m., and the restaurant plans to offer free food from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. during its grand opening celebration. Guests can also enter giveaways throughout the day for merchandise, gift cards, coupons and a chance to win free wings for a year.

Owner Joe Holbrook said the new restaurant marks another step in the company’s continued growth across Ohio.

“We’re excited to bring OX-B’s to Marion and become part of the community,” Holbrook said in a press release. “This location is another step forward as we continue to grow and reach more guests.”

The grand opening will also support Marion Matters, a local nonprofit focused on financial literacy, workforce development and community support. Customers can make donations during opening day in exchange for coupons for free menu items. Representatives from the organization will also be onsite during the event.

Founded in 2020, OX-B’s first launched out of shipping containers and has grown to locations in Newark, Lancaster, Westerville, Pataskala, Short North and Buckeye Lake. The chain also operates a food truck and a seasonal location at National Trail Raceway.

The restaurant serves wings, wraps, salads, sandwiches and signature menu items like chicken and waffle fries and its chicken and mac bowl.
