A fixture in the world of Central Ohio jewelery is calling it quits after nearly three decades.

According to a statement posted to its social media accounts, Powell Jewelers announced that it plans to close on April 25.

“After 28 wonderful years in Powell, we’re closing our doors forever,” the statement reads, noting it plans to hold a final Going Out of Business Sale in order to liquidate its remaining inventory. The sale, which will let patrons save up to 60 percent on select items, runs April 15-25.

Powell Jewelers is located at 10245 Sawmill Pkwy. in Powell. It will be open 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday.
